Bosch Receives 2007 DaimlerChrysler Diversity Supplier Development Corporation of the Year Award

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., – Robert Bosch LLC announced today it was named Diversity Supplier Development Corporation of the Year by DaimlerChrysler. The award will be presented during the DaimlerChrysler Training and Recognition Event, part of the Michigan Minority Procurement Conference held on May 2, 2007 at Cobo Center in Detroit.

The purpose of the DaimlerChrysler award is to recognize those individuals and corporations who exemplify the spirit and intent of diversity supplier development through their outstanding leadership and achievements in diversity sourcing.

Since 2000, Bosch has spent over $680 million with minority businesses, including $142 million in 2006 alone. Bosch was recognized with the Diversity Supplier Award for its success in exceeding DaimlerChrysler’s 2006 Tier One minority spend goal, which was accomplished by increased spending with existing and new minority suppliers in both production and non-production areas.

“Bosch’s alignment with DaimlerChrysler’s goals and initiatives, and a strong business leadership, create a role model with which DaimlerChrysler is proud to partner,” said Jethro Joseph, senior manager of minority supplier development at DaimlerChrysler.

“Bosch supports DaimlerChrysler’s 21st Century Diversity Strategy by continuously developing new opportunities to increase our activities with minority suppliers in the U.S.,” said Christer Jannson, Bosch vice president of corporate sales to DaimlerChrysler. “We believe that minority business enterprises are an integral part of the automotive industry and important contributors to our future automotive activities.”
