| Reutlingen, Germany / Irvine, CA – Bosch eBike Systems North America (www.bosch-ebike.us) is bringing several new products to the North American market for Model Year 2017. These innovations – Purion, PowerPack 500, and the Compact Charger – and more will be on display at Bosch’s Interbike 2016 booth (#5271) and available for experiencing first hand at the Interbike indoor test track “The Circuit.”|
Purion: Design meets functionality
Purion is a minimalistic on-board computer designed for anyone who wishes to focus on the most important riding information such as the riding mode, range or trip distance and prefers a cleaner handlebar. Purion is perfect for both city and trail riding.
- Everything under control: While riding, Purion is operated directly and conveniently using your thumbs while your hands remain on the handlebar. The service interval display issues a reminder to pay a visit to the dealer. Purion, along with the Intuvia display now, both feature a walk-assist function.
PowerPack 500: More range, same size
The new PowerPack 500 is by far the most powerful eBike battery. 25% more range with additional weight of just 4% compared to the PowerPack 400, resulting in an industry-leading energy density of 190 Wh/kg.
- PowerPack 500 remains in the same form-factor as the PowerPack 400 frame and rack-type batteries. This makes it easy for existing eBike customers to upgrade from 400 Wh to 500 Wh for those seeking greater range.
Compact Charger: Small enough for travelling
The Compact Charger is the perfect charger for anyone making long journeys with their eBike. It is 40% smaller and 30% lighter than the Standard Charger and fits easily into any saddlebag.
See the eBike future
Thirteen more bicycle brands will soon be “epowered by Bosch” in Model Year 2017. While 2016 featured the Bosch-equipped eBike brands Bulls, Butchers & Bicycles, Cannondale, Cube, BH EasyMotion, Electra, Felt Electric, Gazelle, Haibike, KTM, Lapierre, Scott, Trek and Xtracycle, the list will soon include Benno Bikes, Corratec, Focus, Fuji, Izip, Kalkhoff, Moustache Bikes, Norco Bicycles, Orbea, Riese & Müller, Tern, Urban Arrow and Yuba in a wide variety of styles, feature sets, and price points. “Since we first brought the Bosch system to North America in 2014, we’ve grown from four to now twenty-seven world-class brands featuring almost every kind of eBike under the sun,” says Claudia Wasko, General Manager of Bosch eBike Systems Americas. “The eBike market is clearly taking off in the US and Canada. We are proud to provide a tailwind to the growth of our esteemed eBike manufacturer partners and their talented retailers.” The 2017 portfolio of brands will feature mountain, trekking, road, step-through, hybrid, fat-tire, cargo and folding eBikes, proving the versatility and popularity of the Bosch mid-drive system.
Interbike 2016 show attendees will be able to demo many eBikes from Bosch’s new and existing brands at Outdoor Demo Day on Sept 19th and 20th and at the indoor test track (“The Circuit”) on Sept 21st – 22nd to try out Bosch’s new MY17 innovations. Dealers are also invited to attend seminars on eBike market trends, policy, technology, marketing, and more at the Bosch-sponsored “Electric Theatre”, located adjacent to “The Circuit” Test Track, open Sept 21st and 22nd 10AM – 5PM.
