Bosch and Interbike Bring Back “Electric Theatre” at Interbike 2016

Visitors invited to attend seminars on electric mountain bike (eMTB) trail access, health benefits, market trends, and more
Irvine, CA – Bosch eBike Systems North America ( has teamed up with the Electric Bike Association and Interbike to present the Electric Theatre, a venue for dealer eBike education open to all Interbike 2016 attendees ( from 10AM – 5PM Sept 21st and 22nd. Organizations such as PeopleForBikes, Electric Bike Association, California Bike Coalition, University of Colorado and more will be presenting on timely topics to “spark discussion” and prepare North American bicycle dealers for the emerging eBike revolution.

PeopleForBikes will lead a panel discussion on eMTBs in a session entitled “Electric Mountain Bikes and Trail Access – Progress and Challenges”. This will cover the developing state of eMTB rules and regulations with respect to trails. Land managers will weigh in on access and regulations based on a better understanding of eMTBs and their technology. (Sept. 21, 1 p.m. – 1:45 p.m)

Later in the afternoon, James Peterman of University of Colorado and John MacArthur of Portland State University will present their latest research showing how eBikes impact health and mobility in a session entitled “The Latest Electrifying Research on eBikes and their Health and Transportation Impacts”. (Sept. 21, 3 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.)

In “The Inaugural 2016 Electric Bike Expo Tour – Surprising Discoveries”, the Electric Bike Association will share compelling eBike customer research compiled over seven months of hosting the Electric Bike Expo event series. With thousands of eBike test rides recorded, the Expo presentation delivers a fantastic opportunity for retailers to learn startling facts about the eBike rider. (Sept. 21, 11 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.)

“Who’s Test Riding eBikes and Why” features a panel of leading electric bike shops serving up insights and responses to the test-riding behavior of their customers. Manufacturers will not want to miss the product-oriented focus session on what customers are looking for in eBikes of the future. (Sept 21, 2 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.)

Additionally, Bosch together with Navigant Research will discuss similarities and differences between the U.S. and European eBike market, along with projections for the future in The Rise of Electric Bikes in the U.S. – Market Trends (Sept. 22, 2 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.)

The Mann Group will be presenting “Overcoming the Biggest Obstacle to Selling eBikes”. This session will cover a three-step process to connect your team with your customers to harness the enthusiasm for eBikes in your shop. (Sept. 21, 4pm – 4:45 p.m.)

In addition to the Electric Theatre, visit Bosch’s Interbike display in booth 5271, to learn about Bosch’s latest technologies being introduced to the North American (?) market. Show attendees will have a chance to experience these technologies firsthand on a variety of Bosch-powered eBikes at Outdoor Demo Day (Sept 19th-20th) and at the indoor test track (“The Circuit”) (Sept 21st – 22nd).
